Comments
When you leave a comment, we collect the information in the comment form. We also collect your IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
We may send an anonymized string (a hash) created from your email address to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible next to it.
Media
If you upload images to wingski.com, please don’t include location data (EXIF GPS) in them. Anyone who visits the site can download images and extract that data.
Cookies
If you comment, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This saves you from retyping them next time. These cookies last one year.
When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It holds no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set several cookies to store your login details and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen option cookies last one year. If you tick “Remember Me”, your login lasts two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, your browser saves one more cookie. It holds only the ID of the post you edited, includes no personal data, and expires after one day.

When you click an affiliate link, Amazon or another retailer may set its own cookies to track the visit and credit us a commission. Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, add their own third-party tracking, and monitor how you interact with the content. This includes cases where you have an account on that site and are logged in.
Your data
Who we share it with: If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. Visitor comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
How long we keep it: Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely. This lets us recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them for moderation. Registered users’ profile information is stored as well. Users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time, except their username. Site administrators can also view and edit it.
Your rights: If you have an account or have left comments, you can ask for an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also ask us to erase it. We can’t erase data we must keep for administrative, legal or security reasons. To make a request, email info[at]wingski.com.
